Xindo riconosciuto, an opera seria by Georg Benda (43) to words of Galletti, is performed for the first time, in Gotha for the birthday of Duchess Luise Dorothea. It is the first opera performed at Gotha, productions having been banned through the opposition of the clergy. Within a month, regular stagings will commence.
