June 25, 1522: Franchinus Gaffurius dies in Milan, Duchy of Milan, aged 71 years, five months and eleven days.
August 3, 1820: Simon Mayr (57) reads his study of Franchinus Gaffurius (†298) to the Ateneo, Bergamo. It is the first part of a projected book on various people by Mayr. He will be prevented from completing the work by illness and death.
1974: Deputy chief of the Portuguese General Staff General António de Spínola publishes Portugal and the Future, a book which suggests a political rather than military solution to the colonial question.
